Mickie Lewis began her for profit career in entertainment marketing and promotions, working on both coasts and in the Denver Metro area until she moved into nonprofit workforce development in 2000. Since that time, she has worked throughout Colorado in rural and urban areas developing programs that assist individuals returning to community after incarceration, disenfranchised populations and individuals who wish to make changes in their career choices. Mickie lives in La Junta, CO where she enjoys rural living on the Eastern plains. She received her degree in Human Services at Metropolitan State University and her graduate degree in Organizational Development and Strategic Change from Colorado State University. In addition, she has been a keynote/ guest speaker at national and state conferences since 2011, sharing her knowledge and experiences in workforce development and creativity in the workplace. She is a Certified National trainer in Behavioral Understanding in Workplace Environments, Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ by World (Bridges Out of Poverty) and is certified by the National Association of Workforce Professionals since 2016.
Cheryl is currently the Project Coordinator for Prowers Economic Prosperity and Business Consultant for Southeast Colorado Small Business Development Center.
Cheryl is a native of southeast Colorado. She has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management. She understands rural communities and small business operations. Her expertise is in leadership, management and planning. Through experience in the banking industry, small business ownership, community college business education and leadership roles, she has the business experience and skills that makes her a great fit for business consulting and economic development.
Cheryl is excited to once again be a part of SBDC and southeast Colorado economic development. She looks forward to helping people achieve their business dreams and be a part of encouraging economic growth.
CJ Juleff has 20+ years’ experience designing and facilitating career development, sales and service, leadership, management development and personal finance workshops for a variety of international, national, regional and local for-profit companies, non-profit organizations, and government agencies.
She also consults with a variety of industries in the areas of strategic planning, staff development, personnel issues, board governance, executive coaching, presentations, and personal financial wellness initiatives.
CJ’s background includes retail, hospitality, Internet startups, trade associations, adjudicated youth, commercial banking, nonprofit leadership, training and facilitation, and career development/coaching.
She holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Organizational Leadership from Regis University.

Sammie Trotter-George is the Director of the Bent County Development Foundation, providing economic development services in Bent County and throughout Southeast Colorado by providing small business and entrepreneurial support, conducting purposeful engagement activities that increase awareness about available community resources, and partnering with state and local agencies and organizations to expand capacity, increase funding opportunities, and encourage collaboration throughout the region on projects that improve the quality of life for residents and the long-term sustainability of businesses. Sammie grew up in rural Colorado, and understands the importance of growth and development in our small communities that remains consistent with our beliefs and values. Sammie’s work experience includes: graphic design, marketing, management, customer service in the tourism industry, bookkeeping, property management, early childhood education, business startup and ownership, website development and management, retail, grant writing and management, and project management. Sammie holds a Bachelors in Business Administration with a triple major in Management, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship from Colorado Mesa University, and is currently in the process of becoming a Certified Economic Developer.

Born and raised in Otero county, Jaydon has a passion for entrepreneurship, photographing Colorado’s abundant nature, and the local community. Jaydon was deeply involved in youth entrepreneurship throughout high school, participating and speaking at various Youth Entrepreneurship Project events, and went on to minor in Business at Otero Junior College. She continues to be involved with several non-profit organizations in the community as well as running a small photography business alongside her work with the SBDC. As a disabled working professional who has had to develop alternative working methods, Jaydon offers unique business insights to fellow minorities. She is actively pursuing becoming certified as an ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter to better serve SBDC clients. Jaydon specializes in business planning, financial projections, operations, general administration, Microsoft Office software, Google software, contact management, informational marketing, and data collection and analysis.
